Paragraph 1

In the event of a reduction in the enjoyment of the leased property as a result of a defect, the tenant may claim a proportionate reduction of the rent from the day on which he or she duly notified the landlord of the defect, or on which the defect was already sufficiently known for measures to be taken, until the day on which the defect is remedied.

Paragraph 2

The tenant has no claim to a rent reduction in respect of defects which he or she is obliged to remedy pursuant to Article 217, or for whose occurrence he or she is liable to the landlord.
