Article 44bis Dutch Criminal Code

If a criminal offence is committed with a discriminatory purpose, or consists of, is preceded by, is accompanied by or is followed by conduct expressing hatred of or discrimination against a group of people on the grounds of their race, their religion or belief, their sex, their sexual orientation or their disability, the fixed-term imprisonment or detention (hechtenis) prescribed for that offence may be increased by one third.
